Turkey will be the guest of honor at the 2013 London Book Fair, as the Culture and Tourism Ministry has announced that a symposium titled “Reading Turkish Literature in the 21st century” will be held as part of the fair March 1 and 2.
The symposium aims to raise international awareness on Turkish literature and attract more readers to it.
The symposium covers such topics as “Contemporary Turkish Literature,” Translating Turkish Literature,” and “Turkish Literature with all its Colors.” Esteemed literature professor Murat Belge will be participating in the symposium.
A Turkish delegation of writers, translators and academics totaling 120 people will attend more than 50 cultural and professional activities as part of the fair.
The London Book Fair will continue until June.
