Wall painting by Ottoman officer found in Haifa

A massive painting created by an Ottoman soldier has been discovered beneath the plaster of the wall of a nuts store in Haifa. Now, support is needed to reveal the entire painting and to protect it

The 10-meter painting by the Ottoman officer has not been entirely revealed and $10,000 is needed to continue works, according to the Haifa History Club’s Eli Liran.

Locals in Haifa have discovered a large painting dating back from World War I in a nuts store in the coastal Israeli city.

The 10-meter-wide and three-meter-high painting, which covers the entire wall, depicts an air attack by the British army against the Ottoman army during World War I. 

The painting was revealed by a university student who had come to the store for shopping. Seeing a miniature soldier’s head beneath the peeled-off plaster on the wall, the student called a friend who is an expert on wall paintings. The expert went to the store the following day to examine the wall and said a bigger painting could be concealed beneath the plaster.

Le doyen de la chanson turque Adnan Şenses s’est éteint

L’un des chanteurs qui ont marqué son époque, Adnan Şenses est décédé à
 l’âge de 78 ans.

Il souffrait d’un cancer d’estomac depuis 2011.

Adnan Şenses a commencé à travailler comme menuisier sur l’insistance 
de sa famille.

Alors qu’il fredonnait des chansons dans l’atelier, la qualité de sa voix se fit 
remarquer et il se lança dans sa carrière musicale en 1956.

Il a joué dans de nombreux films dont le premier s’intitule « le chanteur pauvre » 
tourné en 1960.

L’artiste a remporté l’examen ouvert par la Radio d’Ankara où il travailla pendant 16 ans.

Adnan Şenses a joué dans 47 films et possède de nombreux albums.

Drogba sera l’ambassadeur culturel de la Turquie

Le ministère turc de la Culture et du Tourisme a signé un accord avec la chaine de sport mondialement célèbre, Eurosport, pour la campagne publicitaire internationale de ‘Destination Turkey’.

Selon l’accord, un grand nombre de sportifs et artistes connus dont Didier Drogba, l’attaquant du Galatasaray d’Istanbul, joueront dans la campagne publicitaire.

Outre Drogba, les stars du ballon rond tels que Wesley Sneijder, Dirk Kuyt et Burak Yılmaz présenteront durant une année la Turquie sur les écrans britanniques, français, russes, polonais, allemands, italiens et espagnols.

Les autres artistes qui figureront dans le film de présentation, sont Nurgül Yeşilçay, Tuğba Palazoğlu et Neslihan Demir.

Selon l’accord en question, Eurosport réalisera des films de 13 minutes chacun sous le titre « Passport Turkey », composés des épisodes « Passport Istanbul », « Passport Cappadoce » et « Passport Antalya », puis les diffusera sur ses chaîne de télévision en Europe et en Turquie mais également sur son site internet.
