Life of Turkish Sufi Yunus Emre adapted to screen

Turkish Sufi and poet Yunus Emre’s life is being adapted to the silver screen by director Kürşat Kızbaz, who previously made a film about Rumi that received big interest around the world. The film will be released in January 2014 with the title ‘Yunus Emre - the Sound of Love’

The film on the life of Yunus Emre is being shot in 15 different Turkish cities to show the richness of the Anatolian land.

A new film will focus on the life of Turkish poet and Sufi Yunus Emre, who made a great contribution to the formation of culture and civilization in Anatolia. The film titled “Yunus Emre – Aşkın Sesi” (Yunus Emre – the Sound of Love) tells of Yunus Emre’s adventure in pursuit of “love.”

Speaking to Anatolia Agency, director of the film Kürşat Kızbaz said that he previously shot the film “Mevlana - Aşkın Dansı” (Rumi – The Dance of Love) and it was screened in 65 countries.

He said this time he was working on a film reflecting the love and peace philosophy of the intellectual Yunus Emre, adding that the preparation and shooting process of the film took more than three years.

Kızbaz said that the film was set to be released in the first month of 2014, adding, “This special project brings together many renowned names. Yunus Emre is played by Devrim Erin, the star of the highest-budget movie of the Turkish cinema history, ‘Fetih 1453’. A very special and experienced team of actors collaborated with him in the film. We will present the unique story of Yunus Emre to audiences on Jan. 10.”

Artists including Burak Sergen, Altan Erkekli, Altan Gördüm, Ahmet Mekin, Bülent Emin Yarar, Sinan Albayrak, Suna Selen, Nesimi Kaygusuz, Tamer Levent and Nilay Cafer are taking on roles in the film, said Kızbaz. “These names will appear as historical characters like Rumi, Hacı Bektaş-ı Veli, Tapduk Emre etc.”

War scenes shot in Van 

Kızbaz said they had set up a big place in the eastern province of Van for the Mongol war scenes, and added, “At the same time, we wanted to show all the colors and richness of Anatolia by shooting the film in 15 cities over four seasons.

“While depicting the life of Yunus Emre, who had an impact on the life of millions of people with his love, tolerance and peace philosophy, we received support from many institutions, including the Culture and Tourism Ministry.”

Noting that making such a film carried big responsibilities, Kızbaz said he was the director, producer and scriptwriter of the film and had undertaken a big responsibility in showing such a significant character to millions.

Since they knew the difficulties of reflecting the life of such a mystic character on the cinema screen, they had worked on the script and shooting preparations for more than two years, according to Kızbaz. He said they received invitations from many countries from India to the United States.

The film was shot in Kartepe, Nallıhan, Erciyes, Cappadocia and Hacıbektaş, said Kızbaz, adding that people living in those regions showed them great interest.

INFLUENCE ON LITERATURE

Yunus Emre, who lived between around 1240 and 1321, has an immense influence on Turkish literature, from his own day until the present. Because he is one of the first known poets to have composed works in the spoken Turkish of his own age and region rather than in Persian or Arabic, his diction remains very close to the popular speech of his contemporaries in Central and Western Anatolia. This is also the language of a number of anonymous folk-poets, folk-songs, fairy tales, riddles and proverbs. He remains a popular figure in a number of countries from Azerbaijan to the Balkans with seven different and widely dispersed localities disputing the privilege of having his tomb within their boundaries.

Yunus Emre : la vitrine de la Turquie dans le monde

En 2009, le gouvernement turc décide de créer un institut consacré à la promotion de la langue et de la culture turque dans le monde. Baptisé Yunus Emre par le président Abdullah Gül, ce centre dispose aujourd'hui de 36 bureaux dans le monde et neuf de plus sont prévus en 2014.
La plupart sont situés dans les pays turciques et au Moyen-Orient. L'institut Yunus Emre est rattaché à plusieurs ministères (Culture, Affaires étrangères, Tourisme). L'année dernière, un bureau a été ouvert à Paris. Pour le directeur de Yunus Emre France, Melih Yediyildiz, que Zaman France a rencontré à deux pas de leur bureau situé sur les Champs-Elysées, l'ouverture est le mot clé de l'institut. «Nous essayons de promouvoir avec qualité la culture, la langue et l'art turc en droite ligne de la pensée de Yunus Emre qui écrivait dans un poème : "Soyons des amis, ne rendons pas les choses difficiles, aimons-nous, le monde n'est pas à nous et ne restera pas à nous"».

La turcophilie de Téhéran au Caire

Une philosophie qui fait école y compris dans des pays où les relations politiques avec la Turquie étaient récemment plutôt tendues, comme en Egypte et en Iran. «L'Iran fait partie des pays où nous avons le plus d'étudiants de la langue turque (1000) après l'Egypte (1500). Dans les Balkans, le turc est déjà la deuxième langue vivante étudiée dans les écoles», précise Melih Yediyildiz. Pour doper la connaissance de la culture turque, un programme estival envoie un panel d'étudiants en Turquie pendant quelques semaines. Un modeste système de bourse est aussi proposé à quelques étudiants. Même si leur ancrage est récent en France, les responsables de Yunus Emre espèrent beaucoup de cette présence dans l'Hexagone.

Des Français pas assez dispos ?

Leur partenariat avec le magazine l'Etudiant dans le cadre de l'Expo langues organisé en février prochain en est l'illustration. «Nous ne visons pas spécialement le public turc de France mais le grand public qui, lui, ne connait pas la culture turque», explique M. Yediyildiz qui est aussi doctorant spécialisé sur l'apprentissage du turc. Il regrette néanmoins le manque de disponibilité des institutions culturelles françaises qui n'existerait pas en Belgique ou en Turquie, selon lui. YUNUS EMRE'NİN 17 ŞİİRİ KEŞFEDİLDİ
Yukarıdaki şiir Yunus Emre'ye ait. Ancak bu zamana kadar hiç gün yüzüne çıkmamıştı. Bunun gibi ünlü şairin hiçbir yerde yayınlanmamış 17 şiiri daha keşfedildi.

Ahi Evran Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fak. Türk Dili ve Edeb. Öğr. Ü. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Köksal yeni şiirlerin nasıl keşfedildiğini şu sözlerle anlattı:
“İstanbul'dan bir sahaftan aldığım bir grup el yazması kitaptan biri de Yunus Emre Divanı idi. Yapılan yayınlarla bu şiirleri tek tek karşılaştırdım ve bu karşılaştırma sonucunda 17 şiirin bu güne kadar yapılan Yunus Emre yayınlarının hiçbirinde olmadığını tespit ettim."

Keşfedilen şiirlerin üslubu şüpheye yer vermiyor.

Yunus Emre, Nabi, Fuzuli, Şeyh Galip, Nesimi gibi şairlerin kendine has üslubunun olduğuna dikkat çeken Köksal, “Bu üslup kendini hemen ele verir." dedi.

Yeni şiirler tanıtımı yapılarak literatüre girmesi sağlanacak.

Şiirlerin bilimsel bir dergide en kısa zamanda yayınlayarak tüm dünyaya tanıtılması planlanıyor.

Yunus Emre (1240 - 1321), Anadolu'da Türkçe şiirin öncüsü olan mutasavvıf bir halk şairidir. Büyük bir Türk düşünürüdür.

Ahi Evran Üniversitesi Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Köksal, yaklaşık bir yıl önce İstanbul'da bir sahaftan eski kitapları alırken, el yazması birkaç kitap da satın aldığını söyledi.
Kırşehir'e geldiğinde yaptığı incelemede, kitaplardan birinin Yunus Emre Divanı olduğunu gördüğünü ifade eden Köksal, şiirleri incelemeye aldığını dile getirdi.
Lisans öğrenciliğinden bu yana Yunus Emre hayranı olduğunu ve onun üzerine araştırmalar yaptığını, dikkatli bir inceleme ve karşılaştırmalar yaptığında, 17 şiirin daha önce yayınlanmadığını gördüğünü vurgulayan Köksal, şöyle konuştu:
”Kitaptaki şiirleri okurken bazılarının Yunus Emre Divanı'nda bulunmadığını fark ettim. Yunus Emre Divanı'nı baştan sona birkaç kere okumuş birisi olarak şiirler bana yabancı geldi. Yunus Emre ile ilgili Cumhuriyet’ten önce ve sonra yazılmış kitaplarla karşılaştırdığımda 17 şiirin Yunus Emre divanlarının hiç birinde bulunmadığını gördüm.
El yazması Yunus Emre Divanı kitabının kâğıt, cilt ve yazı incelemesinde 17. yüzyıla ait olduğunu tespit ettim. Şiirler gerçekten orijinal, güzel şiirler. Yunus Emre'nin dilini, üslubunu bilen, Yunus'u tanıyanlara bir ikisini okuyunca tereddüt kalmaz.
Bende hiç bir tereddüt hâsıl olmadı. Dil, üslup tamamen Yunus Emre. Diğer şiirlerinden hiç de geri kalmaz. 17 şiirin 13. yüzyıldan buyana bulunmamış olması ve yeni tespit edilmiş olmasının önemli olduğunu düşünüyorum.''
Kitapta 200'ün üzerinde şiir olduğunu aktaran Köksal, Anadolu'da, Yunus Emre ve diğer şairlerin daha bulunmamış birçok şiir ve eserinin olabileceğini tahmin ettiğini kaydetti
