BODRUM - Doğan News Agency / hürrıyet daily news
The exhibition is at the Turgutreis Şevket Sabancı arts and culture center and will continue until Nov. 2.
A total of 53 works are displayed at the biennial, and some artists are giving live performances.
The biennial’s coordinator Gülsüm Erbil spoke at the opening ceremony. “We know that there are many artists from all over the world live in Bodrum. We wanted to gather them in one event. We also wanted to combine art and tourism in one platform,” Erbil said, adding that the aim was to define the “universality” of art.
The biennial will continue for two months in different venues such as the Bodrum Museum and the town’s Ottoman Shipyard.
“The event presents Bodrum in terms of art and shows how the district opens to art events,” said Turgutreis district vice mayor, Mehmet Türk.
There will be symposiums and seminars parallel to the biennial.
