The French
Cultural Center will present an exhibition displaying photos taken by
photojournalists from the Sipa Press news agency over the past 40 years.
The exhibition is based on a book by photographer Michel Setboun and journalist Sylvie Dauvillier titled “40 Years of Photojournalism: Sipa Generation.”
Photos in the exhibition, which begins Sept. 26 and will run until Dec. 31, will be accompanied by the remarks of photojournalists. The exhibition is curated by Mesut Y. Tufan, who worked for the Sipa Press Agency as a photography editor and director.
Sipahioğlu to be commemorated
The exhibition, which is being organized on the second anniversary of agency founder Gökşin Sipahioğlu’s death, will also feature two talks on photojournalism.
The first talk will be held Sept. 27 with the titled “The Development of Media after Digital Revolution.” Setboun, Dauvillier and Anadolu Agency Director of Photography and Video Departments Ahmet Sel will speak at the event. The other talk will be held Nov. 13 with the participation of two war photojournalists who worked for Anadolu Agency, Alfred Yaghobzadeh and Coşkun Aral.
