si vous allez à Istanbul: conseils de visites guidées

Mardi dernier (15 janvier), visite des quartiers de KURTULUŞ (TATAVLA) ,PANGALTI avec Istanbul Accueil.
Ces quartiers d'İstanbul sont nés après les grands incendies de Péra (1831 et 1870), actuel Beyoğlu et Taksim.
A l'origine, dans ces endroits là, les Grecs dressaient des chevaux. Le mot "Tatavla" signifie "dressage des chevaux", aujourd'hui Kurtuluş.
Au début du 19è siècle, le Grand cimetière de Taksim (petits champs) a été transféré à Pangaltı (pani caldi - pain chaud en Italien) puis les habitations et les commerces.

Ancient mosaics discovered in Osmaniye

Ancient mosaics were discovered on Jan 7 in the southern province of Osmaniye’s Kadirli district, which is known for its radish production. One of the mosaics depicts a radish, officials said, adding that they also found the first written document regarding Kadirli on the mosaics.

Restored sections of Topkapı Palace open

Restored sections of Istanbul’s Topkapı Palace, from where Ottoman emperors ruled territories spanning continents for nearly four centuries, were opened to visitors on Jan. 9.
According to a statement made by the Istanbul Provincial Culture and Tourism Director, the palace’s kitchen and bath, the Cooks’ Mosque, Kalayhane, Harem Hünkar Bath, Valide Sultan Bath, Kuşhane Bath and Arslanlı Garden are now open to visitors.

Ancient Turkish cities await holidaymakers

Turkey’s southeastern cities of Diyarbakır and Mardin, home to ancient civilizations, offer a rich cultural and historical experience for travelers.
Basking in its historical glory, Diyarbakır boasts more than 4.82 kilometers of spectacular stone walls that were probably first erected around 2,000 B.C. and are included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
